The WDSF SmileMobile, a modern dental office on wheels, brings oral health services year-round to children from limited-income families who would not otherwise have access to much needed dentistry. The 40-foot-long, brightly colored mobile clinic is supported by teams of volunteer dental professionals from each community it visits. Services range from examinations and preventive care to fillings and minor oral surgery - all provided at little or no cost to patients. The SmileMobile, which began operating in 1995, is a partnership between Washington Dental Service, Washington Dental Service Foundation and the Washington State Dental Association. Since it first hit the road, the mobile clinic has treated more than 15,000 children throughout the state.
